Small Town living is new to me. I rejoice in the joys of the traditions and pride most small towns across america have. Like alot of small towns New Baltimore is steeped with history and community pride. Sharing some of our small town celebrations is my way of showing the pride we have in our small town.
New Baltimore is a small town right on the shores of Anchor Bay. If looking at Michigan holding your left hand in front of you its very easy to communticate what area of the state I live in. Looking at the mitten (or your hand) just where your thumb starts on the outside is Lake St. Clair. Not one of the great lakes but still a very large lake. Our small town is located on the bay of Lake St. Clair.
A cute community that is growing in leaps and bounds as people find that living in a small town is more attractive with each growing year. The town itself is very small you know the kind with one stop light so don't blink when your driving through it. But the communities around this area are very numerous. The high school my children attend is one of the largest, but it consists of about five or six small towns.
I think as the world changes more and more people want that small town feeling. So even when you live in a big city, small communites are being formed within to make you feel like you live in a small town. Please enjoy my sight and I hope it will inspire you to start your own site showing the pride you have in your small town. Or just contact me and let me know about your small town and I can add it to my site.
Please enjoy clicking page to page and don't forget to print up some of the delicious recipes I have included. These are from a collection my Mom lovingly kept for my sisters and I to treasure.
I'm Glad you stopped by my page. My husband convinced me that someone might be interested in sharing and trading small town information....Cooking tips and recipes.

Since I have not added any recipes to my web site all summer I thought I might tell you what I have been busy doing. Two of our children graduated from Anchor Bay High School this year both Dayna and my step son Cody. My daughter Dayna was excepted at Johnson & Wales University and receiving scholarship money this was her dream come true. She was one of the only 500 freshmen accepted at the Charlotte North Carolina campus, plus she was only one of the 150 accepted into the baking a pastry program. To say the least her step-father and I are very proud of this accomplishment.
Cody is also interested in the culinary arts but has deceided to take a few months to work and earn some money towards his tuition.
For a gift to Dayna for graduation I decided to tackle making her a quilt from all her shirts she had collected through her school years.
Not knowing what I was getting myself into I sent for the directions to make a T-shirt quilt. It took me all summer to finish the quilt so that Dayna would have a keepsake for all the hard work she did in High School.
Below is a picture of all my hard work!

After months of work and many frustrations we are proud to annouce the Grand Opening of our web store.
Small Town Kitchen
Staying close to my heart of cooking and kitchen gadgets my husband and I ventured into trying our hand at retail sales. I know.....the chances of success are limited but I feel if you don't try you will never know! Together with my husband we have worked long and hard at something we are both passionate about. Now with bated breath we have opened for business and wait for that first sale.
Like anything in life when you are excited yet apprehensive for something you have put your heart into you want to be successful. I hope all my readers will take a look. Even if you don't buy anything you can let me know what you think!
No subject about the site is off limits. Comment about the colors, the products or even our logo. Give me suggestions how to improve our store.
Don and I are very proud of the new addition:
This is another recipe from my sister Laurel. She resides in North Carolina with her husband and three children and 8 beautiful grandchildren. My sister is a wonderful cook and baker and has given me quite a few recipes. This particular one I remember having after my nephew Ryan made it for me...
Peach Cobbler
I made this Saturday for the family. I had bought peaches two weeks ago to make a peach pie or cobbler I hadn't decided, but the peaches kept disapearing! The kids kept eating them so I was down to only four and I know I needed at least six or eight for the size recipe I need to feed all of us.
